• Documents		Marriage- Aubert, Anna-Verschelden, Alphonse It was charivari time this week for city manager Maurice "Buck" Coleman and his bride, the former Regina Doyle. A large crowd also gathered at the Verschelden farm in Sandy Hook to charivari Alphonce (better known as "Babe") and his bride, the former Anna Aubert.
  		Anniversary- Verschelden, A.T. and Ann Golden Anniversary for the A.T. Verscheldens A.T. “Babe” and Ann Verschelden, St. Marys, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 4, at 9:15 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys. A reception in the Centennial Building will be from two to four o’clock. Relatives and friends are in¬vited. Hosting the occasion will be their children: Theresa Schleif, Topeka; Alice Zeller, Mayetta; Joan Falley, Zeandale; Regina Verschelden, Ft. Collins, Colo.; John Verschelden, Lebanon, Mo.; Rita Etzel, LaMesa, Calif.; Ann Fouts, Ottawa; Anita Culbertson, Wamego; Frank Verschelden, Topeka; Margaret Cunningham, Norfolk, Va.; Kenny Verschelden, Rossville; and Joe Verschelden, with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif. A daughter, Mary Jo Lacock, died earlier this year. The Verscheldens have 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Alphonse T. Verschelden and Anna M. Aubert were married October 5, 1937, in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys. They have spent all of their lives in the St. Marys community. Sandy Hook has been their home all their married years, where they now live as semi-retired farmers. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.
