| Marriage- Sage, Arletta-Smith, Kenneth Arletta Sage and Kenneth Smith wed in Christian church
The marriage of Arletta Esther Sage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin M. Sage of Rossville, to Kenneth Ray Smith, son of MR. and Mrs. William Smith of Rossville, took place October 28 in the Rossville Christian Church. Minister Sam Nickols read the double ring service at 7:30 p.m.
Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Lewis Walker of Harveyville, Kansas. Soloists were Mr. Frank Taker and daughter, Mrs. Earl Hepworth of Dover, Kansas. Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Hepworth are cousins of the bride and Mr. Taber is an uncle.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a blue wool sheath with matching jacket. White satin and velvet bows and veiling formed her hat, and she carried a bouquet of red roses on a white Bible.
Maid of honor, Miss Zora Wade of Topeka, wore a beige suit with brown accessories. Her corsage was bronze mums.
Mr. Smith had as his best man Leonard Mesmer. Ushers were Buddy Taylor of Topeka, brother-in-law of the groom, and Melvin Sage, brother of the bride.
Mrs. Buddy Taylor had charge of the guest book. Mrs. Taylor is sister of the groom.
A reception at the Rossville Community Center followed the ceremony. In charge of the reception was Mrs. Anna Lemon of Rossville. Assisting her were Mrs. Leonard Mesmer, Mrs. David Stadler, Mrs. Lonnie Spiker, Mrs. Cecil Lloyd and Miss Sandra Lloyd.
Those in charge of gifts were Ada Sage, Shirley Sage, Mrs. LaVerne Abney, Geneva Smith and Janet Harth.
The bride is a student at Stewart's Beauty Academy in Topeka. Mr. Smith is serving a four year enlistment in the United States Navy with Fighter Squadron Thirteen stationed at Naval A.S. Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Florida.
