  Anniversary- Root, Eugene and Martha Martha and Eugene Root Eugene and Martha Root of Topeka will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center in Silver Lake. Hosts will be their children and their spouses, Ted and Mercedes Root and John and Sherry Root and their granddaughter, Lori Root. The couple have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Eugene Root and Martha Reamer were married Nov. 29,1951. Mr. Root farmed in the Silver Lake area throughout adulthood. Mrs. Root was a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years.
