    Celebrate Golden Wedding
    ROSSVILLE RESIDENTS TO CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. John S. Martin will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, June 19. A reception in their honor will be held in the Rossville Community Center from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. No invitations are being sent but friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were born in Rossville and have spent most of their lives in the Rossville Community. They have seven children and thirty grand-children. The children are: James of Lubbock, Texas: John Jr. of Moline. Ks.; Robert and Ray of Topeka; Mrs. Bonnie Vande Velde of Kansas City. Ks.: Mrs. Nona Haltom of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Donald of the home.

    Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ketter of Rossville announce the engagement of their daughter, Florence Loree to Mr. Raymond Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Martin also of this city.

    Miss Ketter is a graduate of RHS and is employed in the state livestock commissioner's office. Mr. Martin also is a RHS graduate and is employed as a linesman for the Southwestern Bell Telephone company and now is stationed at Wichita.

    The marriage of Miss Florence Ketter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ketter, to Mr. Ray Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Martin was solemnized at a Nuptial Mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic church at Rossville, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Fr. Berens read the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with beautiful gladioli, asters and other cut flowers.

    Melvin and Larry Ketter, brothers of the bride were the altar boys.

    Mrs. Bill Hill organist played nuptial music and the traditional marches and Mrs. Edward Rafferty vocalist sang, accompanied by Mrs. Hill.

    The bride given in marriage by her father, was lovely and wore a gown of white silk marquisite, with fitted bodice and low neck line edged by wide silk lace bertha and lace peplin with short sleeves and full ankle length skirt. She wore lace mitts and a finger tip veil with crown of seed pearls, and carried an arm bouquet of 18 red roses. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift from the groom.

    Miss Alice Grace, maid of honor, Miss Betty Devenham and Mrs. George DeBacker, sister of the bride, were brides maids and wore identical gowns styled as the bride, in satin and marquesite in shades of Nile green and gold. They wore matching picture hats and carried colonial bouquets of asters.

    Mary Ellen Ketter, cousin of the bride was flower girl and wore a dainty gown and lacy bonnet of matching color and carried a basket of rose petals.

    Master Michael Martin, cousin of the groom was ring bearer.

    The groom was attended by his brother, Robert Martin and the groomsmen were, Mr. George DeBacker and Charles Martin.

    The ushers were John Martin Jr., brother of the groom and Leo Dale Berry.

    Mrs. Ketter wore a silver brown crepe dress with matching accessories and Mrs. Martin wore a dark brown crepe with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of tinted gladioli.

    Miss Alice Grace had charge of the guest book preceding the ceremony.

    Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast and reception was held at the home of the bride. The dining room was decorated with garden flowers and gladioli and a three-tiered wedding cake centered the table covered with a fancy lace spread. Serving at the punch bowl was Nona Martin and Marguerite DeLeye. Mrs. Mildred Berry cut the cake.

    After a two weeks wedding trip, the couple will be at home at Cottonwood Falls, for the present.

    Mr. Martin is employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
