| Obituary- Van Vleck, Mary A. 1 Death of Mrs. Joseph Van Vleck
Mrs. Joseph Van Vleck passed away at 10 o'clock Wednesday forenoon, January 9, 1901, at the family home near this city. Heart trouble was the immediate cause of death, the first serious symptoms appearing about ten days ago.
Mary A. Crane was born in Vermont September 9, 1821. In 1844 she was married to Mr. Joseph Van Vleck in New York state. They came to Rossville township in 1880 and have resided here continuously ever since. Mrs. Van Vleck was a member of the M.E. Church from early childhood and was a most devout Christian lady. The aged husband and six grown children survive her.
The funeral was held from the M.E. Church in this city yesterday (Friday) morning at 11 o'clock, and a very large circle of friends paid their last respects to a loved and honored friend and neighbor. Rev. C.N. Riggle conducted a most impressive service.
