Miss Darlene Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P. Thompson of Haniland, Kansas, became the bride of Leo Dale Berry, son of Mrs. Mildred Berry and the late Mr. Leo Berry, August 28 in St. Joseph’s Church, Greensburg, Kansas. Father John Zenner officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Norma Kendall, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Mr. Robert Berry, Dental Technician, San Diego, California, served his brother as best man.
The couple will be at home in Rossville, Kansas.

| Obituary- Berry, Darlene Rossville - Darlene Berry, 92, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at her home in Rossville. She was born January 23, 1927 in Haviland, KS the daughter of William P. and Alice (Carter) Thompson. Darlene grew up in Haviland and moved to Rossville in 1950. She graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. After teaching Home Economics at Rossville and Greensburg High Schools, she became a homemaker, started a family and raised three children. Darlene served for a time as superintendent of the St. Stanislaus CCD Youth Education Program and was a proud member of the church's prayer chain. She had a passion for flower gardening and was a master seamstress. She married Leo Berry in Greensburg, KS in 1954. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter; Rhonda (Gary) Busse, Raymore, MO and two sons; Michael Berry, of Meriden, and Vincent (Stacy) Berry, of Topeka; a sister, Willa Handlin, of Townville, SC; along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Interment will follow in Rossville Cemetery. Darlene's family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. following the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536. |
