James C. Millenbruch, 83, Rossville, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 23, 1937, at Herkimer, the son of Herman J. And Hazel E. Taylor Millenbruch. He was raised at Home, Kansas, and attended Marysville High School. Jim joined the United States Army as a senior and received his GED.
He had lived in Rossville many years. Jim worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka. He owned and operated Millenbruch Trucking in Rossville. What Jim enjoyed doing the most was helping his brother on his farm. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Silver Lake. Jim was also a member of USW Local 307 in Topeka.
James Millenbruch and Louise M. Ketter were united in marriage on October 26, 1957, in St. Marys. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2008. He later married Mary M. Thomas Ashman on June 2, 2013, she preceded him in death on November 20, 2017. Jim was also preceded in death by a son, David C. Millenbruch on October 10, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita (David) Hansford, Topeka, and Evelyn Armstrong, Rossville; 10 grandchildren, Elisabeth, Joseph, Marcel, and Ambrose, Millenbruch, Amber Kline, Jason & John Hansford, Lucas, Shayne and Sierra Armstrong; seven great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brandon, and Lincoln Hansford, Dominik, Dillin, and Jazlyn Kline and Ryleigh Hansford.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 2, 2021, at Piper Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Marysville Cemetery, Marysville at 2:00 P.M. Friday. Mr. Millenbruch will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the funeral home.
