Lillian E. McClain, 86, Topeka, died Tuesday, July 17,2001, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. McClain was a sewing machine operator in the garment industry for 30 years. She also served 12 years on the staff at Living Water Ranch.
She was born Sept. 10,1914, in Belleville, the daughter of Howard and Grace Jensen Ball. She had lived in Havensville, Denver and California.
She moved to Topeka from the Living Water Ranch near Olsburg in 1991.
She married Dilworth Nichols in 1930. He died in 1978. She married Vencille McClain in 1984. He died in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Nichols, Topeka, and Dale Nichols, Eureka Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Patricia Herrman, Norway, and Alice Hamilton, Westmoreland; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Soldier Christian Church in Soldier. Burial will be in Soldier Cemetery. Mrs. McClain will lie in state after noon Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Water Ranch at Olsburg and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
