Mr. and Mrs. Roy McClain announce the marriage of their eldest daughter, Letha, to Mr. Harold T. Reser, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Monterville Reser.
The wedding ceremony was performed at the Riley, Kansas, Methodist parsonage by the Rev. Wright M. Horton.
The bridal attendants were the bridegroom’s sister and brother, Miss Rosalie Reser and Mr. Lawrence Reser.
The bride was lovely in a frock of soldier-blue silk crepe with wine, accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage of talisman roses. Her only ornament was a gold and crystal necklace.
Mr. and Mrs. Reser left immediately after the wedding for a short honeymoon trip to points in Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.
Mrs. Reser is a graduate of the Rossville high school, and for the past two years was assistant postmaster in the Rossville post office.
Mr. Reser is a progressive young farmer in the Rossville community.
Mr. and Mrs. Reser will be at home to their friends on the farm west of town.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold T. Reser, Rossville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 at Rossville Christian Church, 411 Spruce St.
Hosting the occasion will be their children: Sharon Nickols, Urbana, Ill., and Lillian Kellner, Munich, Germany.
Harold Taft Reser and Letha McClain were married Oct. 5, 1940, in Riley. Mr. Reser is a retired farmer and Mrs. Reser is retired from the United States Postal Service.

Harold Taft Reser, 86, Rossville, died Friday, November 10, 1995, at the Rossville Valley Manor.
He was born July 23, 1909 at the family home east of Rossville, the son of Monterville and Carrie Bladder Reser.
He married Letha McClain, Rossville, in 1940. She survives.
The Resers lived in the Rossville community; he was I farmer.
He was a member of the Rossville Christian Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a 50-year member of the Shawnee County Farm Bu¬reau and was active in the Shawnee County Soil Conservation Associa¬tion. He received the first Soil Con¬servation Award issued by the As¬sociation in 1958. He was a strong supporter of 4-H.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dr. Sharon Nickols, Athens, Ga., and Lillian Kay Kellner, Wurmannsquick, Germany; four grandchil¬dren; and five great-grandchildren.
He will lie in state from 2:00 until 8:00 Tuesday (this afternoon) at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00. His fu¬neral service will be at 10:30 Wednesday at the Rossville Chris¬tian Church; interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Harold Taft Reser Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.

ROSSVILLE — Harold Taft Reser, 86, Rossville, died Friday, Nov. 10, 1995, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mr. Reser farmed in the Rossville area.
He was born July 23, 1909, east of Rossville, the son of Monterville and Carrie Blackler Reser.
Mr. Reser was a member of Rossville Christian Church where he served many years as a deacon. He was a 50-year member of the Shawnee Coun¬ty Farm Bureau and was active in Shawnee County Soil Conservation Association and in 1958 he received the first Soil Conservation Award is¬sued by the association. He also sup¬ported the local 4-H program.
He was married to Letha McClain in 1940 in Rossville. She survives.
Other survivors include two daugh¬ters, Dr. Sharon Nickols, Athens, Ga., and Lillian Kay Kellner, Wurmannsquick, Germany; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Reser will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Piper- Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where relatives and friends will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Rossville Christian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
