Everett Pelfrey Dies
Of Heart Attack
Everett Pelfrey, 72, of Rossville died at a Topeka hospital Saturday about an hour after arrival. He had a heart ailment.
He was born May 26, 1894 at West Liberty, Ky., and spent his early life in Kentucky where he taught in schools. He had lived at Rossville 45 years.
He was a farmer during his early days in Rossville and had served 25 years as postmaster at Rossville before he retired in Sept. 1963. He was a member of the Rossville Christian Church and was serving on the Rossville City Council.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Ora M. Pelfrey, at home; a son, Gene Pelfrey, Rossville; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Stalker, Fort Lewis, Wash.; a half- brother, Roy McClain, Delia; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Bailey, Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Rossville Christian Church with burial in Rossville Cemetery. Parker Mortuary of Topeka was in charge of arrangements.
