A wedding of interest to a [ ] many Rossville people was solemnized Wednesday, Nov. 8th, when Miss Edna Lee Reser became the bride of Mr. Alfred Lynde.
The wedding took place at Topeka; Probate Judge Schocke pronouncing the happy words. Coming home on the 11:18 they were met by a shower of rice as they alighted. They were conveyed to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bood Reser, where they were met by another shower of rice. As soon as congratulations were over they were conducted to the dining room where a bounteous dinner was served.
The bride looked very pretty in a gown of blue messaline. The skirt was made in the new high waisted effect and panel front; the waist was made with lace yoke and short sleeves.
They received many useful and pretty presents.
The bride is an accomplished young lady loved by all who are fortunate to bear her acquaintance, the groom is a nice young man with many friends. They will make their future home northwest of town and will be at home northwest of town and will be at home to their friends after the 15th. All join in wishing them a long and prosperous life. There were about 30 guests that partook of the dinner after which they all joined in a welcome with tin pans and bells.

Former Rossville Residents Honored
The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Lynde will be observed with open house Sunday, November 5, from 2 to 5 o’clock, in their home at 932 Cherry Street, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Hosts for the occasion will be their children and their families, Vernon Lynde, Garden City; Elmer Lynde, Rossville; Raymond Lynde, Abeline, Texas; Dale Lynde, Arnold, Missouri; Mrs. Harley (Louise) Haag, Popular Bluff; Mrs. Jack (Bertha Mae) Osborne and Mrs. Eugene (Iona) Lee, Plains.
The honored couple was married November 8, 1911, at the home of Mrs. Lynde’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monterville (Bood) Reser near Rossville, Kansas.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynde have 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

| Obituary- Lynde, Alfred ALFRED E. LYNDE
Alfred Edwin Lynde, Poplar Bluff, Mo., died at 4 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 1980, in Doctors Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was 89.
Mr. Lynde was a retired farmer. He was born March 25, 1890, in Ontario, Kan., but lived in Butler County since 1934. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
On November 11, 1911, Mr. Lynde was married to Edna Lee Reser. She died in December of 1964. He was married to Georgia Kingery on October 8, 1965. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Elmer Lynde, Rossville, Ks., Raymond Lynde, Shreveport, La., and Dale Lynde, Arnold, Mo.; two stepsons, Darvin McWilliams' and Marvin Kingery, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Mae Osborne and Mrs. Iona Lee, both of Plains, Ks., and Mrs. Louise Haag, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Borders, Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Mrs. Joyce Van Buren, Chicago, Ill.; 31 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren.
Those attending the funeral from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lynde and John Fauerbach, Rossville; Tim Lynde, St. Marys.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel; burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Poplar Bluffs, Mo.
