| Marriage- Schweitzer, Karen-Billings, Calvin Schweitzer-Billings wedding was June 14
The marriage of Karen Sue Schweitzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schweitzer, to Calvin H. Billings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Billings took place Jane 14 at 10 am in St. David’s Episcopal Church in Topeka.
The Rev. Henry H. Breul read the marriage vows. Mrs. Rae Bowman was organist and the church choir sang.
The bride's floor-length gown was of lace, with scalloped neckline and tapering sleeves. The skirt of net had panels of lace over a tiered skirt of net ruffles. A rhine stone tiara held the veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses.
Sister of the bride, Nancy Schweitzer, was maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Anita Williams, Hamilton, Mo, Elaine Schweitzer, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid,
Deane Kohn, Maple Hill, was best man. David Stevens and Louis Adkins were groomsmen. Paul Yount. Bobby Lee Oliver, and Dick Hoobler, all of Maple Hill, ushered.
A reception was held in the Green Rooms of the Hotel Jayhawk in Topeka. After July 1 the couple will be at home at 2100 Virginia, Topeka, Kansas.
The bride attended schools in Wakefield and is a graduate of Washburn Rural High School. She is employed in the Santa Fe offices.
The groom is a graduate of Maple Hill High School and is employed at the Santa Fe offices.
