Walter was born July 23, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Merl and Evelyn Worrell Brown. Walter married Jeannine Earley in Dodge City, Kansas, on August 11, 1974. Walter graduated from Wichita State University He served in the United States Army Reserves. Walter was a member of Topeka Bible Church and a devoted Christian.
Walter was 80 years young and is survived by his wife, Jeannine; children, Bill (Sondra), David (Kandy), Stacey McAlister (LaDonna), Brenda, Chris (Jessika), and Crystal Havens (Charles); grandchildren, Kelsie Smith (TJ), Elizabeth Dowell (Ethan), Phillip Brown (Amber), David Brown (Tasha), Kendall Brown, Brad McAlister, Amanda McAlister, Miranda McAlister, Sage McAlister, Lindsay Tidwell, Jordan Perkins, Jada Holley, Devyn Holley, Madison Brown, Mackenzie Brown, Gabe Brown, Joe Havens, Annie Havens; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane Street, Topeka KS 66604. Memorial contributions may be made to Cair Paravel Latin School, 635 SW Clay Street, Topeka KS 66606.
