The marriage of Miss Mary Ann DeDonder to Mr. Donald Eugene Davis was solemnized during a nuptial Mass at 10:00 a.m., Aug. 9, in Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys, with the Rev. A. H. Schulz, S.J., officiating.
Altar boys were her brothers: Andrew, Gregory, and Timothy DeDonder. Sylvia Zeller, organist, accompanied Mrs. Leroy Seele and Janet Seele who sang “Panis Angelicus” and “Mother, At Your
Feet I’m Kneeling.”
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Phil DeDonder of St. Marys, and Mr. and Mrs. John Davis of Silver Lake.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an organza Kafltian cage gown, fashioned with a scoop neckline and Chantilly lace-edged bell sleeves. The Kaftan splits on each side were edged in lace and floated into a chapel-length train, accented with scattered motifs of lace.
Her elbow-length veil of illusion fell from a headpiece of lace and seed pearls. Her bouquet was of pink roses and white carnations in full flowering cascade. She carried a linen hand-embroidered handkerchief her mother carried at her wedding.
Mrs. James Mulligan, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Patricia Kelley, Manhattan, and Mrs. David Hinkle of Greenville, Tex.; were bridesmaids. Peggy DeDonder, sister of the bride, was flower girl. Each wore an identical floor-length gown of pink whipped cream with brocade bodice and chiffon trains. Their nosegay bouquets were of pink and white carnations.
William Davis served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Davis and Fred Davis, brothers of the bridegroom. Douglas Davis, a nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. Ushers were Bob DeDonder and Frank Wade.
Rice bags were handed out by Gerry Lou and Mary Theresa Pearl.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner were held at the Centennial Building. Assisting at the reception were: Mrs. Frank DeDonder; Linda Ogle, Sylvia Zeller, Anna Marie Schoemann, Mrs. James Pace, Jean Kinaerknecht, and Alexie Ebert. Mrs. Bob Crawshaw was in charge of the guest book.
Mrs. Davis, a graduate of St. Marys High School, attended Kansas State University.
Mr. Davis, a graduate of Silver Lake High School, is em¬ployed by Proctor and Gamble Manufacturing Co., Overland Park.
After a wedding trip to Colo-rado, the couple is at home at 7035 Horton Street, Overland Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Phil DeDonder, St. Marys, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Ann, to Mr. Don Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Silver Lake.
Miss DeDonder, a graduate of St. Marys High School, is a sophomore at Kansas State University, majoring in elementary education.
Mr. Davis was graduated from Silver Lake High School, and is employed by Proctor and Gamble Manufacturing Co., Overland Park.
An August wedding is planned. |
