EL PASO. Texas — Kathleen Pelfrey
Stalker, 80. El Paso, formerly of Topeka, died here Friday, March 14, 1997, in a nursing home where she had been since early November.
She was born April 8, 1916, in Elamton,
Ky„ the daughter of Everett and Ora Mae Pelfrey, and moved to Rossville, Kan., with her parents at an early age. She attended schools in Rossville and attended Washburn University in Topeka. She lived in El Paso and nearby Fort Bliss, Texas, the past 29 years.
She was a member of William Beaumont Army Medical Center Officers Wives' Club and served as president in 1969-70. She also was a member of the Retired Regular Army Medical Officers Wives' Club in Fort Bliss.
She was married to Dr. Francis Orville Stalker April 8,1939, in Topeka. They lived in Topeka until 1943 when he entered military service. She accompanied him on military assignments in Texas, Kentucky, Washington state, Italy and Germany. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Roger Lynn Stalker, Mary Esther, Fla., and Dr. Orville Kent Stalker, Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Donald Gene Pelfrey, Rossville; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Center Chapel No. 1 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Private graveside services will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association. Harding-Orr and McDaniel Funeral Home in El Paso is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen Pelfrey Stalker, 80, El Paso, Tex., died Friday, March 14, 1997.
She was born April 8,1916, in Elamton, Morgan County, KV, the daughter of Everett and Ora Mae Pelfrey.
Mrs. Stalker was a resident of Fort Bliss and El Paso for 29 years. She was a member of the William Beaumont Army Medical Center Officers’ Wives’ Club, and served the club as president in 1969-1970, and of the Retired Regular Army Officers’ Wives’ Club of Fort Bliss, in addition to being a homemaker.
She was married to Dr. Francis Orville Stalker for 58 years, accompanying him to military assignments in Texas, Kentucky, Washington (state), Italy and Germany. The couple raised two sons, Roger Lynn Stoker, Mary Esther, Fla. and Orville Kent Stalker, Lubbock, Tex. All three survive her.
She is also survived by three grandchildren; two great-grand-daughters; and a brother, Donald Gene Pelfrey, Rossville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother, who died at birth.
Her funeral service will be Wednesday, at Center Chapel No.
1 at Fort Bliss; burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery following a family graveside service.
Memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Disease Association.
