| Obituary- Seele, George George J. Seele
ST. MARYS- George J. Seele, 99, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the St. Marys Manor. He was born May 3,1908 in rural Belvue, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Glick Seele. Mr. Seele lived in the Kaw Township most of his life. He was a farmer. George was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 both in St. Marys. He was a member of the Farmers Union Coop and had served on the board of directors. George was an avid bowler. On December 5,1929 he was united in marriage to Leona L. Hafenstein. She died September 29, 1995. Mr. Seele was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Seele and Lloyd Seele, two grandsons, Kevin Wells and Larry Seele and 3 great grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Melvin Seele, Belvue, Ivan Seele, Paxico, Leroy Seele, in Texas and Tom Seele Ft. Myers, FL; three daughters, Marcella Lundin, Delia, Diann Northup, Wamego and Karen Olson, Sterling; 31 grand children; 69 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 7, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mr. Seele will lie in state after 3:00 P.M. Sundayatthe church where there will be a Vigil Service followed by a Rosary at 7:00P.M.
