Miss Elsie Brooks, and Mr. Fred Startup were married Saturday afternoon at the M.E. parsonage, Rev. G.C. Albin, pastor of the Rossville Methodist church officiating.
Mrs. Startup is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Brooks of this city. She was a member of the 1928 class of the local high school and up until her marriage had been employed since the close of school at the Home Bakery. Mr. Startup is the son of J.C. Startup of Rossville and has grown to manhood in this vicinity. He is at present employed on bridge construction work with

ELSIE BILLINGS
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Christian Church in Rossville for Mrs. Elsie Idella Billings, 78, Sacramento, Calif. She died Thursday, September 8, 1983, at Sacramento.
She was born November 4, 1904, near Westmoreland, the daughter of Ezra C. and Laura E. Hause Brooks. She lived in Fort Worth, Tex. 12 years before moving to Sacramento in 1978.
Mrs. Billings was a member of Rossville Christian.. Church, the Independent Order of Foresters at Sacramento, and Whiting Chapter No. 312 of the Order of Eastern Star in Whiting, Ind.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, James F. Startup in 1951, and John H. Billings in 1977.
Survivors include a son, James F. Startup, Jr., Portage, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Joye, Lake Station, Ind., and Mrs. Sandra Necco, Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Carl C. Brooks, Leiters Ford, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladis Viergever and Mrs. Pearl McGrew, both of Willard; 12 grand¬children; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Family and friends met at Parker Price Mortuary, Topeka, from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, Topeka, Ks. 66611.
