IOLA — Curtis Bingham, 79, Iola, died Friday, Dec, 13, 1996, at a Kansas City, Kan., hospital.
Mr. Bingham was a retired cement plant worker. He also was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy.
He was born April 12, 1917, at Van Buren, Ark., the son of William and Bertha Bingham. He graduated from lola High School.
He married Dorothy Crim on Nov. 18, 1939, at Eureka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Bingham, Rossville, and Darrell Bingham, Centralia; one daughter, Janice Cantrell, Yates Center; two sisters, Vivian Zyfkowfki, lola and Velda Brull, Stockton, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great¬grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskell Chapel, Iola. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola.

W. Curtis “Bing” Bingham, 79, Iola, died Friday, December 13, 1996, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park.
He was born April 12, 1917, in VanBuren, Ark., the son of William Curtis and Bertha Jones Bingham.
Mr. Bingham lived most of his life in Iola. He was a retired cement plant worker. He also was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He attended the Calvary United Methodist Church.
He married Dorothy Crim November 18, 1939, at Eureka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Bingham, Rossville, and Darrell Bingham, Centralia; one daughter, Janice Cantrell, Yates Center; two sisters, Vivian Zyskowski, Iola, and Velda Brull, Stockton, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lelia Mallory and Lucille Cramer.
Mr. Bingham’s service was at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel, Iola. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Iola.
