John A. Cahill died very suddenly yesterday at Topeka at the age of 62 years. Mr. Cahill is a former resident in this vicinity and is the father of Alva Cahill of Valencia. His death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Benander, 301 Harrison St. Mr. Cahill attended the celebration at Willard the day previous and was apparently in good health.

John A. Cahill was born in Indiana, February 28, 1854 and died July 5th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daisy Benander, 301 Harrison St., Topeka, Kans. at the age of 62 years 4 months and 7 days. He has been a resident of Shawnee county, since the spring of 1893.
He celebrated the 4th of July with three of his children at Willard, and was apparently in good health. The cause of his death was gall stones and heart trouble. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Maggie Cahill, of Edgar, Mont., and 12 children, Mrs. Rettie Kisinger, of Topeka; Mrs. Eva Burke and Mrs. Mary Harden of Edgar, Montana; James Cahill of St. Joseph, Mo., Clarence, Ray and Murrel of Sharon Springs, Kans., Eddie of McIntosh, S. Da., Mrs. Daisy Benander of Topeka, Alva and Johnie of Valencia, and Mrs. Sadie Fulls of Dwight, Kans., and sixteen grand-children, four sisters and two brothers to mourn his loss.
The relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Fannie Whistman, a sister; Mr. and Mrs. A. Kisinger, and children, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fulls and children, Mr. and Mrs. James Cahill, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benander, and Clarence, Ray and Murrel Cahill. |
