  Obituary- Mercer, Larry Larry L Mercer ESKRIDGE- Larry Lee Mercer, 78 of Eskridge, passed away Friday October 14,2016 in Olathe, Kansas. He was born November 16, 1937 the son of Woodrow and Juanita Prescott Mercer. Larry attended Eskridge High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. After high school, Larry proudly served in the United States Navy. Larry was joined in marriage to Shirley Jean Colbert on September 26,1975 in Alma. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage. Shirley preceded Larry in death on November 9,2007. He was also preceded by a step son, Eddie Long and a brother, Jim Mercer. Larry retired from maintenance department of Dupont and Flexel in Topeka. He will live on in the hearts of his son, Chad Mercer of Olathe; a step daughter, PameIa Garrison of Wichita; sister, Pat Dennison of Burlingame; brother Monte Mercer of Delia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Eskridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Eskridge. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
