| Obituary- Rezac, Joseph Joseph Rezac, Sr.
Joseph Rezac, Sr., a resident of St. Marys for the past 42 years, died last Friday, July 23, at 3:45 p.m. at the age of 96 years, 9 months and 4 days. Death was due to old age and occurred at the home of his son Matt Rezac.
Mr. Rezac was born in Bohemia, October 19, 1823. In 1855 he was married to Miss Ann Bernak at Prague, Bohemia. In 1866 they came to America locating at Cleveland, Ohio, where they lived until the spring of 1876 when they came to Kansas. In 1878 they located near St. Marys. Mr. Rezac worked for many years as mechanic and as a farmer.
The funeral was held Tuesday from the St. Marys Catholic church and interment made in the St. Marys cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Matt, Albert, and Charles of Emmett; George, John and Joseph of St. Marys; James V., of Rossville; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Bryer, of DeWitt, Neb., 51 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
