| Obituary- Brooks, Mary A. Mrs. Brooks Passed Away Thursday
Mrs. Mary Brooks died at 5 p.m. last Thursday in St. Frances hospital where she had been taken a few days previous for treatment. Death was due to heart trouble. She had been in poor health for the past year and after the death of Mr. Brooks in April, 1918, had divided her time between her rooms in Mrs. Kassebaum’s home and the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. E. James.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Otisco, Iona county, Michigan, and at the time of her death was 71 years old. She came to Rossville in 1900 with her family and had lived in Kansas since 1882, living first at Smith Center, Kan.
The funeral services were held in the Rossville M. E. church Sunday, Aug. 3 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev, Shaffer and interment made in the Rossville cemetery.
Beside one brother, E.P. Root, of Fairbury, Neb., she is survived by four children, Mrs. H. E. James, Rossville; Ernest, of Maple Hill, Newton of Ringling, Okla., and Mrs. Edna Wallace of Salt Lake, Utah.
