| Obituary- Burdett, Walter 1 Walter L. Burdett, 64, Topeka, died Thurs., June 8, 1995, at his home. Mr. BUrdett served in the Navy from June 1948 to December 1969.
He was born April 24, 1931, in Atlanta, the son of Walter and Opie Burdett. He had lived in Rossville from 1969 until he moved to Topeka in 1991.
Mr. Burdett was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville and Philip Billard Post No. 1650 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Topeka.
He was married to Dorothy M. Kisner of Sept. 3, 1955, in Hernando, Miss. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Morrison, Topeka; two sons, Andrew Burdett, Norfolk, Va., and Charles Burdett, Olathe; his mother-in-law, Meletta Kisner, Topeka; a brother, Sharon Burdett, address unavailable; and 1- grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors conducted b Post No. 31 of the American Legion will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Burdett will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Davidson Funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Memorial and sent in care of the funeral home.

Mr. Burdett lived in Rossville from 1969 until 1991, when he moved to Topeka. He served in the Navy from June 1948 until December 1969.
Mr. Burdett was a life member of Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31 in Rossville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1650 in Topeka.
He was married to Dorothy M. Kisner September 3, 1955, in Hernando, Moss. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Morrison, Topeka; two sons, Andrew Burdett, US Navy, Norfolk, Va., and Charles Burdett, Olathe; a brother; ten grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Meletta Kisner, Topeka.
The family received friends Sunday evening at Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka. Graveside services and interment were at 11:00 Monday morning at the Rossville Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by Jimmie Lillard American Legion Post No. 31.
