| Obituary- Carlson, Lawrence ROSSVILLE -- Lawrence B. Carlson, 88, Rossville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at a Rossville nursing home. Mr. Carlson worked for Capper Publications for 17 years and later farmed near Olsburg until 1963. He was a mailer for The Topeka Capital-Journal until he retired.
He was born May 13, 1913, in Olsburg, the son of Guy Carlson and Emma Nelson Carlson. He attended school in Manhattan and Clay Center, and he graduated from Topeka High School.
Survivors include two sons, John W. Carlson, Topeka, and Gerry W. Carlson, Smithville, Mo.; a daughter, Joyce K. Jurgensen, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Virginia Stratton, Clay Center, six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mount Hope Abbey at Mount Hope Cemetery. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Carlson will lie in state at the Cemetery Abbey from noon to service time Friday.
