    Collins Payne Carlyle, 87, Kansas City, MO, formerly of Lawrence, died Sunday, February 25, 2001 at a Kansas City, MO hospital from complications from heart disease.
    He was born February 2, 1914, in Chula, MO. He graduated in 1937 from the School of Business at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. He owned Carlyle Anderson Sales in Kansas City.
    He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army in the Pacific.
    He was a member of the Baptist Church in Chula, MO, and the Broadway United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO, and the choir at the church. He was a member of Friendship Lodge No. 89, AF&AM, in Chillicothe, MO. and Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, MO. He was a life member of the University of Kansas Alumni Association.
    His wife, Joyce Carlyle, died in 1998.
    Survivors include three daughters, Constance Carlyle, Prairie Village, Kay Carlyle, Los Altos, CA, and Tandy Leinwetter, Rossville.
    His service was at 10 a.m. Wed. at Broadway United Methodist Church, Kansas City, MO. A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe, MO. Relatives and friends met from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McGilley State Line Funeral Home, Kansas City, where a Masonic service was held at 7:30 p.m.
