Died, near Silver Lake, Aug 8th, 1894, Nathaniel Stroup, Aged 74 years, 10 months, and 27 days.
The deceased was born near Johnstown, Penn. Sept. 12th, 1819, he was married Dec. 21, 1843, in Ohio, to Mary Slipher, who survives him. He came to Kansas in 1861, where he has since resided. The funeral services were held at Rossville, presided over by Rev. Mr. Otto of Silver Lake.
The remains were interred in the Rossville cemetery. He was the father of twelve children, eight of whom still live and join with their mother in thanking their many kind friends for their willing assistance during the sickness and death of their beloved husband and father.
