| Bridal Shower- Parr, Lois Misses Ruth Miller and Helen Mason entertained at a shower Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Wayne Miller, at the home of Mrs. Sherman James. After a few interesting games were played the bride was asked to go to a decorated Christmas tree and clip the cards which were hanging thereon. On the cards were written rhyming verses telling where to find the hidden gifts. These were hidden in various places about the house. The bride read the verses aloud and then proceeded to hunt for the gifts. Mrs. Miller received many lovely and useful articles. Dainty refreshments were served. Gifts were received from Mrs. Joe Parr sr. Mrs. A. A. Cless, Mrs. Charity James, Mrs. Joe Parr jr., Mrs. Ina James, Mrs. Charley Parr, Mrs. Blanche Davis, Mrs. S. 0. Parr, Mrs. A. S. | Marriage- Parr, Lois-Miller, Wayne Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Lois Parr, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Parr, and Mr. Wayne Miller son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Miller of Valencia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G.G. Horne at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Horne of Oakland avenue, Monday afternoon. The young couple were attended by Miss Helen Mason and Mr. Nathaniel Parr, also of Rossville. |

| Obituary- Clanton, Lois 1 Lois Parr Clanton
A graveside memorial service for family and friends to celebrate the life of Lois Parr Clanton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Rossville Cemetery. There will also be a time of visitation and fellowship at Rossville Christian Church following the graveside service.
Mrs. Clanton died January 1, 1998, in Forks, WN. She was cremated. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Clanton.
Survivors include three daughters, Marguerite White, Forks, WN, Shirley Redmon, Edmond, OK, Joy Hecker, Russellville, AR; and one son, William Clanton, San Diego, CA. Other survivors include four sisters, Thora Stadler and Maxine Stadler, Phoenix, AR, and Lorene Harth and Thelma Martin, both of Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council, P.O, Box 4314, Topeka 66604.

FORKS, Wash. -- Lois Parr Clanton, 83, Forks, died Jan.1, 1998, at a Forks hospital.
Mrs. Clanton had worked many years with the Kansas Inspection Bureau before she retired. She also was a former president of the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council of northeast Kansas.
She was born May 29, 1914, in Rossville, Kan., the daughter of Shirley and Edna Parr. She was graduated from Rossville High School. She moved to Washington state from Topeka, Kans., after she had retired.
Mrs. Clanton was member of West Side Christian Church in Topeka.
She married Carl Clanton. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, William Clanton, San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Marguerite White, Forks, Shirley Redmon, Edmond, Okla., and Joy Hecker, Russellville, Ark,; four sisters, Thora Stadler and Maxine Stadler, both of Phoenix, and Lorene Harth and Thelma Martin, both of Topeka; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clanton was cremated. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
