ROSSVILLE -- Jennie Helen Coleman, 75, Rossville, died Friday, March 8, 1996, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Coleman had worked at Rossville Hardware and during World War II she worked two years for Boeing Aircraft.
She was born May 9, 1920, at Dover, the daughter of Helen R. Vance and George R. Sherretts Sr. She had lived at Rossville since October 1945.
Mrs. Coleman was a charter member and the first president of the auxiliary to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville. She also was a member of Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of the Eastern Star and 8 and 40 of Topeka. She attended Rossville United Methodist Church.
She married Albert Coleman on Dec. 11, 1942, at Topeka. He died March 6, 1982. A son, Kenneth Dale Coleman, died Aug. 31, 1989.
Survivors include two sisters, Leota A Westbrook, Norcross, Ga., and Nola M. Ellis, Topeka; and five brothers, George R. Sheretts Jr., Auburn, Floyd J. Sherretts, Liberal, and Ernest R. Sherretts, Louis R. Sherretts and Harlan D. Sherretts, all of Topeka.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary at Topeka. Burial will be at the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Coleman will lie in state after 9 a.m. Monday at the mortuary where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made either to Rossville Community Library, 407 Main, Rossville, 66533, or to the Rossville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 586, Rossville, 66533.

Jennie Helen Coleman, 75, Rossville, died Friday, March 8, 1996, at Meadowbrook Manor, Topeka.
She was born May 9, 1920, at Dover, the daughter of George R., Sr., and Helen R. Vance Sherretts. She moved to Rossville in Octo¬ber 1945.
Mrs. Coleman worked at Boeing Aircraft for two years dur¬ing World War II and at the Rossville Hardware. She was married to Albert Coleman December 11, 1942, in Topeka. He died March 6, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale Coleman, on August 31, 1989, and a sister, Mildred Westbrook, on June 13, 1991.
Surviving her are two sisters, Leota A. Westbrook, Norcross, Ga., and Nola M. Ellis, Topeka; and five brothers, George R. Sherretts, Jr., Auburn, Floyd J. Sherretts, Liberal, Earnest R. Sherretts, Louis R. Sherretts, and Harlan D. Sherretts, all of Topeka.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Parker- Price Mortuary in Topeka. Her fu¬neral service was at 10:00 Tuesday (this morning) at the funeral home. Burial was in the Rossville Cem¬etery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Community Library or the Rossville United Methodist Church.
