| Obituary- Young, Esther 1 MRS. ESTHER M. YOUNG
Mrs. Esther M. Young, 81, Rossville, died Saturday, September 29, 1979, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born January 30, 1898, at Topeka, the daughter of Matthew F. and Mary Rosa Hammer Gamlowski, and lived in Topeka 53 years before moving to Rossville.
Mrs. Young was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Altar Society at the church, Golden Agers, Countryside Club, and a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Jimmy Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion, all at Rossville.
She was married to Chalmers D. Young on October 28, 1920, at Topeka.
He died April 20, 1958.
Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Jeanne Hutson, South Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Joanne Rondeau, Great Bend; and two nephews, Jack Riordan, Boulder, Colo., and Adrian Gamlowski, Topeka.
Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday (this morning) at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka. Wake service was at 7 p.m. Monday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Casket bearers for the Esther Young services on Tuesday, October 21, were Clarence Wehner, Kenneth Cowan, George Sullivan and Richard Cantillon, all of Rossville; Henri E. Rondeau and Mark Rondeau, Great Bend.
