| Obituary- Brees, Joye JOYE E. DAVIN BREES
Joye E. Brees passed away Sun¬day, Feb. 4, 2007 in her home near Emmett.
Mrs. Brees was born on May 20, 1935 in Onaga, the daughter of Lester and Myrtle Davin.
Mrs. Brees graduated from Onaga High School. She worked for American Home Life Insurance Co. from 1953 until 1966. She married Donald G. Brees on March 27, 1960 in Onaga. For the next 20 years she raised four children and helped run the family farm east of Emmett. In 1986 she started working for U.S.D. 321 school district as a secretary at Emmett Grade School and later at St. Marys High School, retiring in 2001.
She was an active member of the Emmett United Methodist Church for over 35 years, handling the treasurer duties for many of those years. She also had served as a Sunday school teacher at the church. Mrs. Brees was a member of the Jolly Workers Club and had served as treasurer of the Adrian Cemetery Board.
Mrs. Brees was preceded in death by her father, Lester and a son, Dou¬glas Gene Brees.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald of the home; her son, Donald Jr. his wife and family, Joann, Dalton and Brett; her son David, his wife and family Cindy and Breanna; her daughter, Dana Michael, her hus¬band and family Garrett, Payton and Preston; her mother Myrtle Davin, Topeka; three brothers, L. J. Davin, Austin, Tex., and Larry Davin and Randy Davin both of Topeka; four sis¬ters, Carol Thompson, in California, Jolene Gleason, Kansas City, Mo., Julie Wilhelm and Jan Conley both of Topeka.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Adrian Cem¬etery near Delia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmett United Method¬ist Church or to Midland Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys.
