Services Friday
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 1969, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary Marguerite Carriger, 75, 601 Vesper, who died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Herbert Broadus will officiate.
She was born July 10, 1893 in Golden, Colo. She had lived in Shawnee County most of her life.
She attended Valparaiso University, Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, and the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She taught 25 years in Shawnee County schools, and retired in 1964 from the Silver Lake School.
She was a member of Beulah Chapter No.34, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. William A. Carriger, 3628 Tomahawk Drive, James R. Carriger 2141 Prairie Road; three sisters, Mrs. Rasmus Miller, 709 Carnahan, Mrs. Helen Harris, Palm Springs, Calif.; two brothers, Robert A. Long, San Jose, Calif.; Claude Long, Porterville, Calif.: and four grandchildren.
