| Obituary- Curran, John 1 JOHN C. CURRAN
John Corneilous Curran, son of Robert Emmett and Martha Ann (Dike) Curran, died January 21, 1967 at the K.U. Medical Center.
He was born November 26, 1893. He died at the age of 73 years, 1 month, 3 weeks and 4 days. He was born in Richardson County, Nebraska, and moved to Hope, Kansas at the age of 16, came to Jackson County at the age of 28. On June 14, 1922 he was united in marriage to Bettie Adams. They lived in the Delia, Hoyt, and Mayetta communities all of his life where he was engaged in farming.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie, of the home. Two sons William and wife Maxine, Holton; John, of the home and one daughter, Betty Buehler and husband Eldon, Mayetta. There were ten grandchildren. Three sisters, Phebe Ellen Burgett, Delia; Mary Emily Stanfill, Seattle, Washington and Lucy Alice Curran of Delia. One brother Jennings Mark, Lecompton and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph Edgar and William Halden and one sister Sarah (Sadie) Agatha Cannon. He was a loving father and grandfather and had enjoyed good health all his life
Services held at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, with Father Hayes officiating, at 1:30, Tuesday, January 24, 1967. Burial in the U.B. cemetery southwest of Delia.
Pallbearers were Milton Daugherty, Myron Wells, Cecil Wells, Arthur Eby, Henry Bruckens, and Raymond Burns. Flower ladies were Mrs. Milton Daughtery and Mrs. Cecil Wells.
Vocal music was furnished by Mrs. Grace Amon accompanied Mrs. Dean Stous.

MAYETTA- John C. Curran, 73, rural Mayetta, died Saturday in a Kansas City, Kan., hospital where he was admitted the day before.
He was born Nov. 27, 1893 in Richardson County, Neb., and spent most of his life in Jackson County. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bettie Curran, at home; two sons, William Curran, Holton, and John Curran, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jane Buehler, Mayetta; a brother, Jennings Curran, Big Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Phebe Burgett and Lucy Curran, both of Delia, and Mrs. Mary Stanfill, Seattle, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home at Holton. Burial will be near Delia.
