Emery Eakins
Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will be honored with a reception Sunday, December 15, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, at the Delia Grade School gym, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Eakin were married December 17, 1924 in Topeka and have lived in the Delia community all their lives. They are the parents of three children, Ivaleu Miller, Edward Eakin and Eudora McQueen, all of Delia.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, were guests of honor at a family dinner, Dec. 17, at the Golden Corral, Topeka, in observance of their 59th Wedding Anniversary.
They were pleasantly surprised to find when they arrived at the restaurant, not only their children, but their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attendance.
Those attending included their children: Mr. and Mrs. Harold McQueen, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eakin and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller.
Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mr. and Mrs. Tony Eakin, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Eakin, Lynne, Darren and Dennis Eakin, Mr. and Mrs. Lee McQueen, Glenn and Denise McQueen, Steve McKay, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Eisenbarth, Lanea and Lance, Gary, Beth and Rod Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tucker, and Troy and Eric Cooksey.
One granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Botten and family of Quincey, Ill., were unable to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will observe their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 17. No celebration is planned, but the couple would appreciate cards and letters.
Emery Eakin and Bertha Dibbern were married in Topeka on December 17, 1924.
Their daughters are Eudora McQueen and Ivaleu Miller, both of Delia. There are 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

| Obituary- Eakin, Edward 1 Edward E. Eakin
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, for Edward E. Eakin, 53, Delia, who died late Sun¬day, July 7, at a Topeka hospital. He had a heart ailment.
Mr. Eakin was a farmer and stockman. He also owned and operated Eakin and Eakin Conservation at Delia with his son.
He was born April 15, 1932, at Delia, the son of Emery and Bertha Dibbern Eakin. He was graduated from Delia High School, and spent his life in the Delia community.
Mr. Eakin served with the Army during the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1955, and spent some time in Germany.
He was married to Marilyn Haag Nov. 20, 1955, at Holton. She sur¬vives.
Other survivors include three sons, Tony Eakin and Douglas Eakin, both of Rossville, and Dennis Eakin, at home; a daughter, Lynne Eakin, To¬peka; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed-ward Eakin, Delia; his twin sister, Mrs. Eudora McQueen, and another sister, Mrs. Ivaley Miller, both of Delia; and three grandchildren.
Burial will be in Delia Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cardiac Care Unit at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, 1500 W. 10th, 66604.

Edward E. Eakin, 53, Delia, died at his home of an apparent heart attack on Sunday, July 8, 1985.
He was born at Delia April 15, 1932, to Emery and Bertha Dibbern Eakin.
On November 20, 1955, he was married to Marilyn Haag at Holton. She survives at the home.
Mr. Eakin spent his life in the Delia area; he was a graduate of Delia High School. He served with the United States Army in Germany from 1952 to 1955.
He was a farmer and stock¬man. For the past eight years, he owned and operated Eakin and Eakin Soil Conservation Service
with his son, Douglas.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents include one daughter, Lynne Eakin, Topeka; three sons, Tony Eakin and Douglas Eakin, Rossville, and Dennis Eakin, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Ivaleu Miller and Mrs. Eudora McQueen, both of Delia; and three grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been requested for the Cardiac Care Unit at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 Tuesday evening, at Verschelden Funeral Home. Services are at 10 a.m. Wed¬nesday at the funeral home; burial will be in the Delia Cemetery.
