Holton - Blanche Elizabeth Eisenbarth, 89, of Holton,
KS passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Vintage Park Assisted Living in Holton.
Blanche was born in Topeka, KS on March 15, 1924, the daughter of Charles James and Elizabeth Katherine (Nissen) Love. She lived most of her life in the Wetmore community. She graduated in 1942 from Wetmore schools. Blanche attended Stewart Beauty Academy in 1946 and opened her own beauty shop in her home in 1957, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the
Elizabeth St. Dominic Catholic Church, St. James Catholic Church and the Altar Society, and Wetmore American Legion Auxiliary.
Blanche married Louis Barrett, he was killed in WWII; she later married James Henry Eisenbarth on January 15, 1949, and they were married for almost 65 years. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Chuck Eisenbarth (Becky) of Holton, KS, Ed Eisenbarth (Susie) of Circleville, KS and Harold “Mike” Eisenbarth (Virginia) of Topeka, KS; her brother George C. Love and his wife Wanda of Rossville, KS; 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Blanche is preceded in death by her brother, Joe Love; grandson, Brian Eisenbarth and great-granddaughter, Katheryn Eisenbarth.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Wetmore Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with visitation to follow. Memorials may be given to the St. Dominic Catholic Church, St. James Catholic Church or Wetmore American Legion c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
