| Obituary- Engberg, John JOHN G. ENGBERG

John G. Engberg, 58 years old, 4937 South Benton, night janitor foreman at the Star, died unexpect¬edly of heart disease shortly before midnight last night (Friday), while at work. He had been in failing health the last year. A former po¬lice sergeant, Mr. Engberg had been employed by The Star the last nine years. He was the son of the late John A. Engberg, a cabinet maker, land had lived in Kansas City all his life. He was a machinist for the Chicago-Great Western railroad be¬fore becoming a member of the po¬lice department 30 years ago. He returned to railroad work and later went back to the police department serving the nine years prior to 1932. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma L. Engberg of the home, who is visiting in Altadena, Calif.; a son, John W. Eng¬berg, 5018 Walrond avenue; a step¬son, Fred A. Stewart of Topeka; a step-daughter, Mrs. I.B. James, Altadena; a sister, Mrs. Edith Lowe, 4109 Flora avenue, and seven grand¬children.
Mrs. Engberg’s first husband was George Stewart, deceased and her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Aye of Rossville.
