| Obituary- DeVader, Henry DeVader
Henry Francis DeVader, 69, Route 2, Holton, died Thursday morning, April 27, at the home of his son, Francis DeVader, Route 2, Holton. He was admitted to St. Francis Hospital February 18, 1972. He later was released and was taken to his oldest son’s home where he was cared for by his wife and family and family physician, Dr. Kendall until the time of his death. He had cancer.
He was the son of Peter and Prudence DeVader, born September 21, 1902 at Shawnee. He had farmed in the Holton area for 27 years, moving here from Delia.
Mr. DeVader was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic church at Holton.
He was married to Ines Hladky on November 27, 1929 at the Holy Cross Church, Emmett. She survives.
Other survivors include five sons, Francis DeVader, Raymon DeVader, Richard DeVader and Roger DeVader, all of Holton, Robert DeVader, Orangevale, California; three daughters, Mrs. Ramona Robinson, Mayetta, Renetta Martin, Holton and Mrs. Rosealee Boling, Hoyt; a brother, John DeVader, Paola; a sister, Mrs. Anna Ozmen, Concord, California; 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, 3 brothers and 3 grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass was said by Father Bill Kaufman, 10 a.m. at St. Dominic’s. Servers at the Mass were the grandsons, Dennis, Doug and Pete DeVader.
The pallbearers were Dan DeVader, Wetmore, Henry DeVader, Holton, grandsons; Edward DeVader, Emmett, nephew; Harry Maier, neighbor and friend; Delbert Boling, Hoyt and Dean Robinson, Mayetta, sons-in-law.
Burial was at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Holton.
