Ora Lou Bahner Bailey, 80, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at a Topeka care center.
She was born December 10, 1919, in Licking, MO, the daughter of Oral and Nora Case Cantrell.
Ora Lou graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1937. She lived in the Silver Lake and Grove communities most of her married life. She was a member of Silver Lake Baptist Church, was a 4-H leader and taught cooking and sewing in the Grove community and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Silver Lake. She worked for the Kansas State Board of Agriculture as a seed analyst before she retired in 1981.
On August 10, 1940 she married Jeffro Bahner in Manitou Springs, CO. He died April 6, 1971. She married Woodrow Bailey November 19, 1971. He died in August 1979.
Surviving her are two sons Jerrol Bahner, Topeka, and Kerry “Cub” Bahner, Silver Lake; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a niece, Kay Paul, Sunnyvale, CA.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Her service was at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home; burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Grove, north of Silver Lake.
