ROSSVILLE - L. Alma Green, 73, Rossville, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Green and her husband farmed in the Willard community for several years. She also worked in factories during World War II.
She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in the Beach Community, N.C., the daughter of Earl and Pearl Swayer. She moved to Rossville from Willard in 1991.
Mrs. Green was a member of Lecompton Chapel in Lecompton.
She married Ray Green in 1950 in Michigan. He died March 25, 1975. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Anderson.
Survivors include a son, Larry Anderson, Rossville; a sister, Aileen Dimaya, Pontiac, Mich.; and a brother, Earl Swayer Jr., Weaverville, N.C.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be at the Green Family Cemetery near Willard. Mrs. Green will lie in state from 2 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Community Library or to the Lecompton Chapel and sent in care of the funeral home.

L. Alma Green, 73, Rossville, died Monday, January 6, 1997, at a Topeka hospital.
She grew up in the Beach community in North Carolina. She was a homemaker, and had worked in factories during World War II. She moved to the Willard community and fanned with her husband, Ray, until she moved to Rossville. She had lived in Rossville since 1991. She was a member of the Lecompton Chapel in Lecompton.
She was born February 22, 1923, in the Beach community, the daughter of Earl and Pearl Hefner Swayer.
She was married to Ray Green in 1950, in Michigan. He died March 25, 1975. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Anderson.
Survivors include one son, Larry Anderson, Rossville; one sister, Aileen Dimaya, Pontiac, Ml; one brother, Earl Swayer, Jr., Weaverville, NC.
