| Obituary- Griffin, Clifford Boy, 10, Dies When Station Wagon Upsets
A rural Rossville youngster was killed late Tuesday afternoon when he was thrown from a car and the vehicle rolled over him near St. Marys, a Kansas Highway Patrol official said.
The boy was identified as Clifford R. Griffin, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Griffin, who live north of Rossville. The youngster was a fourth grader at Rossville Grade School.
In Station Wagon Patrolmen said the boy was one of the passengers in a 1960- model station wagon driven by his mother, Mrs. Anna M. Griffin, 40. The accident occurred a half-mile north and about 1 1/2 miles east of the St. Marys city limits.
The vehicle was eastbound on a gravel road when the driver lost control and the car hit an embankment. The station wagon overturned and the 10-year-old was caught underneath.
