Mrs. Ettie Sarah Gustin, 82, of 524 Prospect St., Leavenworth, KS. wife of Edgar J. Gustin, died Monday night at her home, following an illness of the past 18 months. She had been in failing health for several years.
Mrs. Gustin was born in Shawnee County, KS. August 6, 1876, the daughter of P.H. and Mary Zickefoose, early day residents of Shawnee County. She was married to Edgar J. Gustin in Lyndon, Ks., August 28, 1901. They had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1951. They had farmed for many years in Delia., Ks., and retired and went to Leavenworth in 1937 where they had made their home since.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Rossville, and the Cleveland Park Social Club of Leavenworth.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. E.R. Colter of Leavenworth, Ks. Mrs. O.E. Glogan and Mrs. K.R. Romig, both of Oxnard, Ca., and Mrs. Mel Gleason of York, Ne.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Sexton Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth. Rev. John Hodge, Pastor of the Easton Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
