| Obituary- Gutshall, Lillian 1 MRS. JOHN GUTSHALL
Lillian Sadora Orris Gutshall age 63, passed away at her country home west of Rossville last Friday, following a long illness.
She was born in Ickesburg, Penn., June 11, 1872.
In 1884 she came to Kansas with her parents and in 1889 was united in marriage to John F. Gutshall, and has resided in this community since that time.
To this union were born nine children, one having died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband John F. Gutshall and eight children: Mrs. Ida Heiland, Mrs. Bessie Perry, Rossville; Mrs. Blanche McCleery, St. Marys; Mrs. Verna Freeman, Topeka; Mrs. Mildred Finney, Ogden; William Gutshall, Topeka; Carol Gutshall, White City; and Harry of the home address; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie O’Neil of Manhattan, Mrs. Edith Davis, Topeka; and Mrs. Gertie Wallace of Rossville, two brothers, T. H. Attebury of Rossville and Harry Orris of Manhattan. There are 16 grandchildren, four great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Gutshall was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She was a friend to all, adding cheer and a helping hand where ever she could. She loved her home and was a devoted wife and mother to her large family.
Funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. H. L. Nelson of Topeka officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Art Wallerstede, Mrs. Ruth Hesse, Mrs. C. K. Grosser and Mrs. Peter Navarre and Miss Edith Higginbotham, piano accompanist.
The pall bearers were A. B. Jamieson, C. E. Grosser, E. G. Griswold, John Rouse, Lon Berry and A. F. Buchmeier.
The following out-of-town relatives were in Rossville, Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. John Gutshall; Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Neil and sons Lyle and Jean of Manhattan; Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Olson and son Clell of White City; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Finney, Mrs. Elsie Imler, Miss Freda Erickson, William Finney, of Ogden; Mr. Finley Coffee, Concordia; Mr. Wagner, Beamer Nelson, Henrietta Irvin, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pitney of Topeka.
