| Obituary- Hawk, William KANSAN since 1884
William hawk, 79, Dies Saturday
At His Home in Grove.
William Hawk, 79, died suddenly at his home in Grove, Saturday afternoon. Born in Athens, Ohio, in 1859, he moved to Kansas in 1884. He had lived at his farm home at Grove for the last twenty-seven years.
Mr. Hawk had been in ill health for some time. He had gone out on his farm to mend fence in the afternoon and when he had not returned for sometime, his daughter tried to locate him. She found his body about a quarter mile from the house. She called neighbors, who assisted her in taking him to the home. Death was caused by heart disease.
He is survived by a son, Raymond Hawk, Silver Lake; three daughters, Mrs. James King, Kansas City, Kan.; Mrs. Harold Wells, St. Marys, and Miss Gladys Hawk of the home. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. Albert Shroyer, Topeka, Route 6; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Boyles, Silver Lake, and eight grandchildren.
The body was taken to Shellabarger’s Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
