Fred Francis Heiland, 84, Topeka, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Heiland and his brother farmed j northwest of Topeka. He also was a fertilizer and seed dealer.
He was born Oct. 6, 1912, at Rossville, the son of Fred and Ida M. Gutshall Heiland. He was graduated from Rossville High School.
Mr. Heiland was a member of the German-American Club and Eagles Aerie No. 58, both in Topeka.
Survivors include a sister, Jennie Roberts, Topeka, and a companion, Velma Radke, Topeka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Heiland will lie in state after 1 p.m. today at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th, Topeka, 66606.

Fred Francis Heiland, 84, Topeka, died Monday, November 11, 1996 at a Topeka hospital.
He was born October 6, 1912, in Rossville, the son of Fred and Ida M. Gutshall Heiland.
Mr. Heiland moved from Rossville to a farm northwest of Topeka in 1946.
He was graduated from Rossville High School. He famed with his brother, Harley, who died on July 30, 1996. He was currently a fertilizer and seed dealer, and belonged to numerous farm organizations. He was a member of the German-American Club and Eagles Aerie No. 58, both in Topeka.
Survivors include one sister, Jennie Roberts, Topeka; one sister-in-law, Dolly Heiland, Rossville; and a companion, Velma Radke, Topeka.
His service was Thursday at the Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial was in the Rossville Cemetery. The family received friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
