Rossville-Robert R. Huffman, 75, died Tuesday,
October 22, 2013 at a Topeka Hospital.
Bob was born May 31, 1938 at Burlington, the son of John Allen and Louise Ethel Tipton Huffman. He graduated from Topeka High School and served in the Kansas Army National Guard.
Mr. Huffman worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for many years. He was a Life Master Bridge player playing twice a week and daily on his computer up until his death. Bob was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues from 1967 until 1995. He was involved in Super Stock racing for 30 years. He loved anything fast enjoying motorcycles and ATV’s. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. Bob had served on the Rossville City Council.
On February 27, 1975 he was united in marriage to Helen E. Stadler Gillum at Rossville. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Haines, Topeka, a stepson, Scott (Colleen) Gillum, Rossville; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Gillum, Rossville; his brother, Bill (Linda) Huffman Topeka; his sister, Celia Faye Maher, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Macy, Laura, Malcolm and Briar all of Rossville, and his special friend, Linda Hudson, Burlington.
