    A family celebration earlier this month was held to honor the 50th wedding anniversary of John Kenneth and Ermyl M. (Reeder) Broyles, Delia.

    The couple was married July 26, 1953, at Silver Lake.

    Mr. Broyles was a farmer. Mrs. Broyles worked for 23 years for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She retired January 31, 1996.

    They are the parents of two daughters, Barbara and her husband James Hunt, Garden Plain; and Laura and her husband Rick Anderson, Meriden. They have seven grandchildren.

    BARBARA LOUISE HUNT
    Barbara Louise Hunt, age 54, Garden Plain, died April 2, 2012.

    Barb was born Aug. 25,1957, in Topeka, the daughter of John Kenneth and Ermyl Mae Reeder Broyles.

    She attended grade school in Delia and graduated from Rossville High School. She attended Washburn University, Topeka and graduated in 1979. She taught school in Hugoton, Kingman, St. Joseph, Ost and Garden Plain.

    Barb married James W. Hunt, Sept. 9, 1980, in Clayton, N.M.

    Survivors include her husband James; sons Jimmy, John and Jerrod Hunt; her parents; and a sister Laura (Richard) Anderson.

    Services were held Thursday, April 5, at Garden Plain Elementary School. Graveside services were held Friday, April 6 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Grove Township, Kan.

    Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Relay For Life.

    Barbara L. Broyles Hunt
    Barbara L. “Broyles” Hunt, 54, of Garden Plain, Kansas died April 2, 2012. Barbara was born August 25, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas to John Kenneth and Ermyl Mae “Reeder” Broyles. She attended grade school in Delia and high school in Rossville. After graduating from Washburn University in 1979, she taught physical education in Hugoton, Kingman, St. Joe, Ost and Garden Plain, KS. She married James W. Hunt September 9, 1980 in Clayton, New Mexico. She is survived by her parents of Delia, her husband James of Garden Plain and three sons, Jimmie (Missouri), John (Overland Park) and Jerrod (Liberal). Also surviving is sister Laura Anderson (Richard) of Meriden, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services were held at Garden Plain Elementary School April 5, 2012. Graveside services were held April 6, 2012 at Walnut Hill Cemetery north of Silver Lake, Kansas. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association or Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).
