    KENNETH JOSEPH JOHNSON
    Kenneth Joseph Johnson, 18, Mayetta, was killed Saturday night, October 6, 1979, in a one-car accident one mile west of the Jackson- Pottawatomie County line on K-16. Deputy Sheriff Dave Wisdom said
    Johnson was the driver of a westbound car which left the road while passing another westbound car, traveled a short distance and hit a guardrail.

    Wisdom said Johnson died a short time after he was taken to Onaga Community Hospital.

    Mr. Johnson was born August 1, 1961, at Topeka. He was a painter.

    He was a member of the Holton Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his father, Cecil T. Johnson, Mayetta; his mother, Helen Neussen Johnson, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Judy Krug, Silver Lake, and Christina Johnson, Mayetta; two brothers, Robert Johnson and David Johnson, Mayetta; two half-brothers, Frankie Lee Pearce and Gerald Wayne Pearce, Horton; two grandmothers, Mrs. Frannie Johnson, Ada, Okla., and Mrs. Anna Neussen, Emporia.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil D. Johnson, on May 25, 1979.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home at Holton. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. The casket will be closed.
