| Obituary- Keener, Bena Mrs. Newt Keener
Bena Keener, daughter of Mary and Louis Martin, was born at Henderson, Ky. July 27, 1876. She died at the Clay County Hospital Friday, April 13, 1962 at the age of 85 years.
She spent most of her life in Kansas. She was a member of the Madura Congregational Church at Wakefield.
She was united in marriage with Newton E. Keener at St. Marys in 1895. Had she lived until April 29, they would have been married 67 years.
Survivors include her husband, Newton; her two sons, Lee of Wakefield, Harold of Oakhill; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Faye Harler, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Dollie Lillard, Mrs. Nellie Lillard and John Martin, all of Rossville.
Funeral services were held at the Wakefield Congregational Church April 16 with interment in the Athelstane Cemetery near Wakefield.
Mrs. Newton Keener of Wakefield, Kansas, died at her home April 13th. She was a sister of Mrs. Dollie Lillard, Mrs. Nellie Lillard, John Martin of Rossville and Mrs. Faye Harder of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
