    Mr. and Mrs. Alf Koci of Topeka will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary October 10 with a reception in the community room in the basement of the mall at White Lakes Shopping Center.

    No invitations are being issued for the open house, but friends and relatives are invited to call between 2 and 5 p.m. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

    Mr. and Mrs. Koci were married October 12, 1915, in Topeka. They have lived in the Auburn and Delia communities all their lives until moving to Topeka last July. Mrs. Koci was the former Rosie Kovar.

    They are the parents of six children: Mrs. Viola Beach, Silver Lake; Mrs. Nina Wehner, Eudora; Mrs. Gladys Smith, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Richard Koci, Merriam; Irvin Koci, Philadelphia, Pa., and Clyde Koci, Topeka.

    There are thirteen grand-children and five great-grandchildren.

    Clyde D. Koci
    Clyde D. Koci, 73, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
    He was born February 2, 1934 in Auburn, Kansas, the son of Alfred C. and Rose (Kovar) Koci. He was a graduate of Delia High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed by Sears in Topeka for 8 years and worked for Kansas Gas Service for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
    He was a former member of Northland Christian Church and a current member of Topeka Bible Church. A life time member of Post No. 400 American Legion and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 555.
    Clyde married Donna L. Tolles March 25, 1960 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1988. He was married to Sally A. Calamunce from 1993 to 2003. They remained friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard, and Irvin, and a sister, Gladys Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Deana Gregg (Frank) of Topeka; two sisters, Viola Layman of Topeka and Nina Wehner of Eudora, KS; two grandchildren, Jared Gregg and Cara Gregg both of Topeka; his close friend, Darlene Dorr of Topeka.
    Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Koci will lie in state from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Military honors conducted by American Legion Post No 400 will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka KS 66606 or to Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane, Topeka, KS 66604.
