Mrs. Frances Mae Marney, 78, Rossville, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Marney was a paper hanger. During the 1950s she worked at the Supply Depot at Pauline, and during the 1960s she was employed by Skinner Nursery.
She was born April 28, 1907, at Dover, the daughter of Emerson D. and Cora Ann Zook Kirkpatrick. She spent most of her life in Rossville.
She was married to Theodore S. Marney Oct. 6, 1924, in Missouri. He died Oct. 11, 1971. A daughter, Stella Mae Marney, died in infancy.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Delores Ward, Delia, and Mrs. Ruth Hause, Hartsburg, Mo.; two sons, Robert W. Marney, Silver Lake, and Kenneth J. Marney, Rossville; a sister, Mrs. Opal Bush, Rossville; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grand-children.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren 66611.

Mrs. Frances Mae Marney, 78, Rossville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 1985, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. She was born April 28, 1907, at Dover, the daughter of Emerson D. and Cora Ann Zook Kirkpatrick. She had lived in Rossville most of her life.
Mrs. Marney was a paper hanger. During the 1950s she worked at the Supply Depot at Pauline and during the 1960s she worked at Skinner Nursery.
She was married to Theodore S. Marney October 6, 1924, in Missouri. He died October 11, 1971. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Mae Marney, in infancy.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Delores Ward. Delia, and Mrs. Ruth Hause ,Hartsburg, Mo.; two sons, Robert W. Marney, Silver Lake, and Kenneth J. Marney, Rossville; one sister, Mrs. Opal Bush, Rossville; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, with Bob Sieh, pastor of the Rossville Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Rossville Cemetery.
The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, Topeka, Ks. 66611.
