Steve J. Martinek, 75, Topeka, died Sunday Feb. 16, 1997, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Martinek served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He and a brother established Martinek and Flynn, a business providing aluminum and vinyl siding and installation, in 1957. He also worked as a tax preparer in Topeka for more than 40 years.
He was born March 29, 1921, in Rossville, the son of Stephen and Mary Bravence Martinek.
He married G.J. Martinek. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Steven Craig Martinek, Topeka; five daughters, Bonnie Swader, Tammy Loeffler and Roxie Senogles, all of Topeka; Carla Johnson, Omaha, Neb., and Susan French, Shawnee; two step daughters, Tracey Hoppens and Kit Lee Nott, both of Topeka; a brother, Clarence Martinek; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Mid-Town Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, Topeka.
